Opportunity:

Nurse Practitioner - Surgery Cardiothoracic

Job Details:

• Coverage needed 4 days per month, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with beeper call coverage from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 
  
• Work within the Cardiothoracic Surgery department in a hospital setting
• 
  
• Support staff includes a supervising surgeon
• 
  
• See 10-15 CVICU/step-down patients per day, plus assist with 1-2 surgeries daily
• 
  
• Patient population consists of adults and geriatric patients
• 
  
• EMR system used is Cerner
• 
  
• Special procedures include temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
• 
  
• Must be proficient with endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH)
• 
  
• Minimum 3 years of recent cardiothoracic surgery experience with EVH required
• 
  
• Board certification required; Arizona licensure or proof of application required
• 
  
• DEA required
• 
  
• ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association) certification required
• 
  
• NP applicants must be graduates of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program and have completed an RN/NP First Assistant Program
• 
  
• Current unrestricted Arizona APRN license required for NP applicants
• 
  
• PA applicants must be graduates of an NCCPA-approved university program and be certified or certification eligible by the NCCPA

This facility is a full-service regional medical center serving northern Arizona, offering a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services including advanced surgical specialties. The hospital operates with 199 beds and supports complex cardiac and thoracic procedures within a dedicated CVICU and step-down unit environment. The facility utilizes Cerner as its electronic medical record system and is committed to delivering high-quality care to adult and geriatric patient populations.
