APP - Cardiac Surgery

Opportunity:

Advanced Practice - Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery, Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery

Job Details:

• Provide cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgery support Monday through Sunday with preferred 7 on/7 off schedule
• 
  
• Monday-Thursday onsite coverage 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with on-call duties starting at 4:30 PM
• 
  
• Friday onsite coverage 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with on-call starting at 5:00 PM
• 
  
• Weekend 24-hour coverage with approximately 4 hours onsite starting at 6:00 AM for rounding
• 
  
• Daily rounding on all inpatients in ICU and stepdown units, managing new consults and discharges
• 
  
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) procedures and train new APPs on EVH techniques
• 
  
• First assist on surgical cases once familiar with surgeon routines
• 
  
• Handle patient management calls, emergency department consultations, and hospital transfers
• 
  
• Support specialties including cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and heart failure management
• 
  
• Manage 8-10 inpatient encounters per shift
• 
  
• Must have cardiothoracic experience with PAs requiring EVH knowledge
• 
  
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• 
  
• Board certification required with minimum 30-day credentialing timeframe
