Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic

Job Details:

• Inpatient only practice setting
• 
  
• 8-hour day shifts Monday through Friday with potential call and 24-hour shifts
• 
  
• Work autonomously without supervising physician present during assignment
• 
  
• Average of 10 patients per day
• 
  
• EMR system: EPIC
• 
  
• Level 1 Trauma facility
• 
  
• Patient age demographic includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• 
  
• Required duties include pre-op physical exams, suture removal, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, assisting in surgery, writing prescriptions, coordination of care, and rounding
• 
  
• Required procedures include placement of central venous and dialysis catheters, placement of arterial lines and intra-aortic balloon pumps, and endoscopic retrieval
• 
  
• Must be able to cover two sites within a 35-mile distance of each other
• 
  
• Must be a local provider - only mileage reimbursed at standard IRS rate
• 
  
• Board Certified NCCPA required
• 
  
• Connecticut license in hand at time of submission required
• 
  
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• 
  
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• 
  
• EPIC experience preferred
• 
  
• No new graduates
