Nurse Practitioner - Surgery Cardiothoracic

Job Details:

• Cardiac Surgery APP coverage providing support in a hospital setting
• 
  
• Schedule: Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 7:00 AM, 24-hour call
• 
  
• Coverage needed for 3 weekends per month on an ongoing basis
• 
  
• Average callback per day including rounding is approximately 4 hours
• 
  
• Patient population includes adults ages 18 and older
• 
  
• EMR system: EPIC
• 
  
• Hospital bed size: 163 beds
• 
  
• Special procedures include vein harvesting
• 
  
• Department handles urgent surgery cases, including patients moving from the cath lab to surgery; stable patients may wait until Monday
• 
  
• Patient flow moves from ICU to discharge home; surgeon available for backup after consult
• 
  
• Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC/LOQ required
• 
  
• DEA required
• 
  
• Minimum of 3 years of experience required
• 
  
• Acute care certificate is NOT required

This facility is a community hospital with 163 beds offering a range of inpatient and surgical services. The cardiac surgery department operates with a collaborative team approach, supporting patients through urgent surgical procedures including cases transitioning from the cath lab through to post-operative recovery and discharge. Surgeons are available for backup and consultation, providing a strong support structure for advanced practice providers.
