Advanced Practice - Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery, Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery
Job Details:
- Support a three-surgeon Cardiothoracic Surgery program as either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Provide first assist responsibilities including endoscopic vein harvest for bypass procedures
- Work collaboratively with a team of two to three employed APPs to support cardiac and thoracic surgeons
- Primary duties include first assist coverage for surgical cases
- Additional responsibilities may include inpatient rounding under the direction of the attending surgeon
- Weekday daytime coverage approximately 7:00 AM to 4:00-5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Share weekday night call coverage from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Share weekend call coverage from Friday at 5:00 PM through Monday at 7:00 AM
- Call coverage focuses on first assist support for emergency cases
- Potential to expand to weekend inpatient rounding as program needs evolve
- Experience with DaVinci robotic platform preferred but not required
- Board certification required
- BLS certification required
- Fellowship training required
