Opportunity:

Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic

Job Details:

• Full-time cardiothoracic surgery coverage with Monday through Friday schedule plus call duties
• 
  
• Call responsibilities include 1-2 weekdays and weekends with night call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 
  
• Work setting split between office/clinic (5%) and hospital (95%)
• 
  
• Manage 5-10 hospital patients per day with 0-3 admissions and 2-7 ICU patients
• 
  
• Assist with 1-2 surgeries per day requiring OR experience
• 
  
• Adult patient population (100%)
• 
  
• Required procedures include general cardiovascular/thoracic surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery on pump, and valvular repair/replacement
• 
  
• Preferred procedures include aneurysm repair, lung resection including VATS, chest wall procedures, and LVAD management
• 
  
• Responsible for ventilation management, evaluation of acute volume/BP issues, and central line insertion
• 
  
• Must provide comprehensive care including OR assistance, patient rounding, and clinic support
• 
  
• Work with support staff including RN navigators and medical assistants
• 
  
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical record system
• 
  
• Assignment duration of 6-9 months with immediate start upon credentialing
