Opportunity:

Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic

Job Details:

• Provide cardiothoracic surgical coverage Monday through Friday with call responsibilities
• 
  
• Handle 1-2 weekday and weekend call shifts
• 
  
• Night call coverage from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 
  
• Work setting: 95% hospital and 5% office/clinic environment
• 
  
• Manage 5-10 hospital patients per day with 0-3 admissions and 2-7 ICU patients
• 
  
• Participate in 1-2 surgeries per day
• 
  
• Adult patient population (100%)
• 
  
• Required procedures include general cardiovascular/thoracic surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery on pump, and valvular repair/replacement
• 
  
• Preferred procedures include aneurysm repair, lung resection including VATS, chest wall procedures, and ventilation management
• 
  
• Work with support staff including RN navigators, 2 physicians in practice, and 4 midlevels
• 
  
• Use EPIC electronic medical record system
• 
  
• Position requires OR experience and cardiothoracic surgery background in both surgical and acute care/ICU settings
• 
  
• 6-9 month assignment duration
