Opportunity:

Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Cardiothoracic

Job Details:

• Locum position providing cardiothoracic and vascular surgery coverage on an inpatient/hospital-based setting
• 
  
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with floor call/beeper coverage from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 
  
• Saturday and Sunday require 24-hour onsite support with floor call or OR call coverage
• 
  
• At least 1 to 2 weeks per month of coverage needed through 2027
• 
  
• Provide post-operative care for all types of cardiothoracic and vascular patients
• 
  
• Perform emergency surgery on cardiothoracic and vascular patients
• 
  
• Take consults and referrals from the Emergency Department, Cath Lab, and all hospital providers
• 
  
• Perform vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissues for use as a bypass conduit during heart surgery
• 
  
• Assist in surgery, write prescriptions, coordinate care, conduct rounding, and interpret and order tests
• 
  
• Average patient census of 20 to 26 patients per day in an inpatient setting
• 
  
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients
• 
  
• EMR system used is Epic
• 
  
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery services required
• 
  
• Board certification in vascular surgery required
• 
  
• Active Ohio license, ACLS, and DEA required
• 
  
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required
