The NP/PA will work collaboratively with our physician(s) to evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with chronic and acute pain conditions. This role involves a mix of clinical visits, medication management, coordination of interventional procedures, and patient education within a supportive outpatient setting.
What You'll Do:
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical exams, for new and follow-up patients
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
Perform ongoing medication management, including opioid and non-opioid regimens, in accordance with state and federal regulations
Order, review, and interpret diagnostic imaging and lab work relevant to pain management
Monitor patients for treatment efficacy, side effects, and signs of medication misuse; utilize PDMP and adhere to controlled substance protocols
Provide patient education on pain management strategies, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications
Assist with or coordinate interventional procedures (e.g., epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation) as applicable to scope of practice and state regulations
Maintain thorough, timely, and accurate documentation in the EMR
Collaborate with physical therapy, behavioral health, and other specialists to support whole-person care
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards
Required qualifications:
Active, unrestricted NP or PA license in AZ
Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
Current BLS certification
Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a collaborative care team
