Opportunity:

NP/PA - Trauma Surgery

Job Details:

• Primarily function as a trauma hospitalist rounder with potential for intermittent ED consults, trauma activations, and procedures
• 
  
• Providers with surgical and trauma critical care experience may have additional opportunities
• 
  
• No call required - in-house only coverage
• 
  
• Average 10-14 admitted patients to round on if non-ICU, 6 if ICU, with admitting/ED volume ranging from 2-15 patients per 24 hours
• 
  
• Documentation completed using EPIC EMR
• 
  
• Level I Trauma designation serving adult and pediatric patients ages 0-100+, primarily adult and adolescent
• 
  
• Work autonomously with trauma surgeon staffed on-site 24 hours per day
• 
  
• Required procedures include non-invasive vent management (BiPAP/CPAP), ventilation management, chest tube insertion, central line placement, arterial line placement, and suturing of minor lacerations
• 
  
• Responsibilities include responding to ED for trauma alerts, facilitating discharges, ER admissions, and daily rounding and management of all patient conditions
• 
  
• Must be fully able to serve as attending on all patient conditions as hospitalists are not utilized
• 
  
• Board Certified Acute Care NP (ACNP or AGNP) or PA-C required - FNPs will not be considered
• 
  
• Active Minnesota license required
• 
  
• ATLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
• 
  
• Minimum 1 year of APP experience in the inpatient setting, preferably with trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics
• 
  
• DEA required
• 
  
• NOC shift hours: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
