Full-time position requiring 20-22 shifts per month
Clinic days Monday through Friday with one weekend per month
Daytime call coverage 1:3 ratio from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including admissions from EDs and consults averaging 2 per day
Nighttime call coverage 1:4 ratio from 5:00 PM to 8:00 AM
Round on adults and adolescents (ages 8-17) on inpatient behavioral health units alongside one other APP and a psychiatrist
36-bed inpatient practice consisting of 28 adult beds and 8 adolescent beds
Average daily census of 14 adults and 4 adolescents with an average of 10-15 patients seen per day
Patients are seen in their rooms with no dedicated exam rooms
Supervising psychiatrists present during assignment who co-sign APP notes
Nursing support at a 1:5 ratio on unit with 1:13 behavioral health tech ratio
Ancillary staff includes recreational therapists, social workers, utilization management nurses, and discharge planners
EMR system is Cerner
Practice setting includes inpatient behavioral health and hospital consults
Disorders treated include psychotic disorders, substance-related disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, delirium and dementia, cognitive disorders, life cycle and adjustment disorders, childhood disorders persisting into adolescence and adulthood, and somatoform and factitious disorders
Required duties include diagnosing, performing admission histories and psychiatric assessments, performing physicals, rounding, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, managing ongoing care through consultation with psychiatrists, ordering referrals, administrative duties, coordination of care, and addiction education and management
Teaching opportunities available with nursing students, OT students, and family medicine residents on the unit
Level III Trauma facility
