Opportunity:

Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care

Job Details:

• Provide urgent care coverage across multiple locations in the Richmond, VA area
• 
  
• Clinics are open 7 days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM with 12-hour shifts, dependent upon patient flow
• 
  
• 3 shifts per week required with 3 full-time providers needed (9 total shifts per week)
• 
  
• Patient population ranges from birth to death and varies from clinic to clinic
• 
  
• 100% outpatient setting with an average of 25 to 50 patients per day, increasing during cold and flu season
• 
  
• Higher acuity cases will be referred to a higher level of care (ED/ER)
• 
  
• Perform laceration repairs including simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling
• 
  
• Perform incision and drainage (I&D) including packing, foreign body removal, minor burn management, and skin lesion care
• 
  
• Provide orthopedic injury stabilization including splinting, casting, and joint reduction
• 
  
• Conduct diagnostic and point-of-care testing including X-ray interpretation and EKG evaluation
• 
  
• Interpret point-of-care lab results including rapid strep, flu, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing
• 
  
• Perform epistaxis management including anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery for nosebleeds
• 
  
• Provide cerumen impaction removal and airway support including nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
• 
  
• Documentation via Epic EMR
• 
  
• Board Certification, active Virginia license, active BLS, and active DEA required
• 
  
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting required
• 
  
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required
