Opportunity:

Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care

Job Details:

• Provide urgent care coverage across multiple clinic locations in the Richmond, VA area
• 
  
• Clinics are open 7 days a week, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with 12-hour shifts depending on patient flow
• 
  
• Expected to see all patients who arrive during hours of operation, with patient volumes ranging from 25 to 50 patients per day, higher during cold and flu season
• 
  
• Patient population ranges from birth to geriatric and can vary from clinic to clinic and day by day
• 
  
• 100% outpatient practice setting
• 
  
• Higher acuity cases will be referred to the appropriate level of care (ED/ER)
• 
  
• Perform laceration repair including simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling
• 
  
• Perform incision and drainage including packing, foreign body removal, minor burn management, and skin lesion care
• 
  
• Perform orthopedic injury stabilization, splinting, casting, and joint reduction
• 
  
• Conduct diagnostic and point-of-care testing including X-ray interpretation and EKG evaluation
• 
  
• Review point-of-care lab results including rapid strep, flu, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing
• 
  
• Perform epistaxis management including anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery for nosebleeds
• 
  
• Perform cerumen impaction removal and provide airway support including nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
• 
  
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation
• 
  
• Must be board certified with an active Virginia license, active BLS, and active DEA
• 
  
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting required
• 
  
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required
