Description:

CTG is seeking an experienced Application Architect specializing in AI Automation and Generative AI to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale intelligent automation solutions. This role will architect AI-powered applications that streamline business processes, optimize service delivery, and integrate seamlessly with existing enterprise systems.

 

The ideal candidate combines deep software architecture expertise with hands-on experience building GenAI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and intelligent automation solutions using modern AI frameworks and cloud technologies.

 

Location: Piscataway, NJ

Duration: 12 months

Primary Responsibilities

  • Architect enterprise AI Automation and Generative AI solutions that improve business efficiency and operational performance.
  • Design scalable application architectures using LLMs, RAG, vector databases, AI orchestration frameworks, and modern cloud services.
  • Lead technical architecture, solution design, technology selection, and implementation for enterprise automation initiatives.
  • Integrate AI services, APIs, workflows, and enterprise applications into secure, scalable production environments.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend best-fit solutions for business needs.
  • Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, infrastructure teams, and project leadership to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Develop reusable automation assets, architecture standards, and implementation best practices.
  • Support integrations with IBM Watsonx, hyperscaler AI platforms, and enterprise automation technologies.

Required Skills

  • Expert-level knowledge of enterprise application architecture and AI-driven automation solutions.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript, including React, Next.js, and Node.js.
  • Experience with AI frameworks including LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.
  • Experience designing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications.
  • Familiarity with vector databases such as Pinecone, Chroma, Milvus, or Vertex AI Vector Search.
  • Hands-on experience using AI development tools including Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot.
  • Strong understanding of Git, debugging, testing, API design, and clean coding practices.
  • Experience with intelligent automation platforms such as UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, AI workflows, digital workers, and AI assistants.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, cloud-native architectures, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of application security, performance optimization, and governance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing enterprise GenAI and AI Automation solutions.
  • Experience with IBM Watsonx or comparable hyperscaler AI platforms.
  • Familiarity with IBM Delivery Central Platform (IDCP) and IBM Consulting Advantage, including Methodx, assets, and AI assistants.
  • Experience leading architecture decisions for large-scale enterprise initiatives.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience

  • 8+ years of application architecture, enterprise software engineering, or solution architecture experience.
  • Demonstrated success delivering AI-powered automation and GenAI solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing scalable, cloud-based application architectures.
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor development teams.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree and relevant AI, cloud, or architecture certifications are a plus.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75.00 to $80.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
