Job Description

We are looking for a Power BI Developer / Business Intelligence Analyst to support our client in its transition to the Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM) system. This position will be full-time contract and onsite in Tallahassee, FL. The selected resource will play a key role in transforming legacy financial reporting systems into modern, data-driven dashboards to support organizational decision-making and analytics initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the PALM System Transition by modernizing over 1,500 financial-related computing assets

  • Design and develop Microsoft Power BI dashboards to replace legacy financial data extract reports

  • Transform financial transaction data into actionable insights for leadership and operational teams

  • Work with financial data sources including general ledger, purchasing, and revenue data

  • Develop and maintain reports using IBM DB2 databases

  • Create and maintain paginated Power BI reports

  • Ensure alignment with standardized business processes and chart of accounts

  • Redevelop incoming and outgoing system interfaces to meet modernization requirements

  • Integrate data from multiple sources into cohesive reporting solutions

  • Support implementation of data warehouse and reporting solutions

  • Apply data governance and best practices across reporting and analytics solutions

  • Collaborate within Agile/SCRUM framework to deliver reporting deliverables

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology or finance-related field or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Intelligence

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience developing dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI

  • Strong SQL skills

  • Experience working with IBM DB2 databases

  • Experience building dashboards and reports leveraging Power BI

  • Experience developing paginated Power BI reports

  • Knowledge of data governance best practices

  • Familiarity with data management concepts including Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Operational Data Stores, and Master Data Management

  • Experience creating financial reports using transactional data

  • Knowledge of advanced data structures such as OLAP cubes and Star/Snowflake schemas

  • Experience integrating Power BI with Microsoft tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps, PowerPoint, and Teams

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working with multiple data sources

  • Knowledge of mainframe flat files

  • Familiarity with SCRUM framework

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Oracle Data Warehouse

  • Knowledge of mainframe programming languages and systems

  • Experience working with financial systems such as ERP platforms

  • Familiarity with WebFOCUS

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA standards

  • Sedentary work involving extended periods of sitting with occasional movement

  • Ability to perform repetitive computer-based tasks using standard office equipment

$82 - $87 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
