The Opportunity:

  • Build mission-critical GEOINT applications on a fast-paced Agile team supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). 
  • Develop modern web-based software that enables intelligence analysis and mission execution. 
  • Work across the full stack — from user-facing features to data services — in a cloud-native environment. 
  • Sharpen your skills alongside senior developers, architects, and mission stakeholders.



Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain web application features using Java and/or Python. 
  • Implement and consume RESTful APIs and service integrations. 
  • Develop and enhance GIS-enabled application capabilities and services. 
  • Work with relational and non-relational databases to manage structured and unstructured data. 
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and integration activities. 
  • Apply secure coding practices throughout the development lifecycle. 
  • Deliver within sprint cycles as part of a cross-functional Agile team. 




Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (equivalent experience accepted). 
  • 4+ years of professional software development experience. 
  • Proficiency developing in Java, Python, or both. 
  • Experience with modern web application frameworks and development practices. 
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and data modeling. 
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and Agile development practices. 
  • Security Clearance (TS/SCI) with willingness to undergo polygraph examination.




Desired:

  •  Experience with GIS technologies (ArcGIS, GeoServer, OpenLayers, Cesium, or similar). 
  • Familiarity with containerization, cloud, or DevSecOps tooling. 
  •  Experience operating within SAFe or Agile delivery frameworks.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$63,300-$129,700
