As a crucial player in the automotive engineering team, you will provide specialized expertise in the development and support of fuel injection systems. This position demands thorough knowledge to ensure the product's performance across all stages of its lifecycle. You'll act as a conduit between engineering, testing, manufacturing, quality control, and supply chain, driving innovation and problem-solving within a collaborative environment. Your primary responsibilities include designing and refining remanufacturing processes for diesel injector systems and offering backing for Port Fuel Injection products.
Your role will involve rigorous investigation into product and performance issues, including response to test failures and audit challenges. You'll lead or assist in root cause analyses to implement robust corrective actions and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, such as incident and audit reports.
Regular interaction with diverse teams will be required to sustain product quality and meet shipping timelines. Collaboration with internal labs and external partners will be essential to resolving complex technical problems. Additionally, you'll champion continuous improvement efforts to enhance product performance and application reliability.
The work setting is primarily office-based, with significant engagement with engineering, quality, and IT teams, and occasional after-hours assistance during major releases.
Qualifications demand a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering and over five years of pertinent experience. Proficiency in employing 3D SolidWorks, conducting root cause analyses, and managing diesel engine fuel injector design and validation processes is necessary. Strong analytical acumen and communication skills, along with a proven ability to document technical outcomes, are imperative.
Preferred candidates will possess a background in automotive fuel systems, have managed production launches, and demonstrate adeptness in audit responses. Skills in cross-functional collaboration, engineering analysis, and time management are vital for success in this role.
