The Application Engineering Manager will lead the Application Engineering team responsible for developing proposals and submittal documentation for custom low- and medium-voltage switchgear control and distribution systems. This role is focused on team leadership, project scheduling, technical review, and cross-functional collaboration to support custom power control solutions for critical infrastructure customers. You will help drive quality, consistency, and efficiency across application engineering, quotations, order engineering, sales, test, and field service activities. You'll make a difference by: Leading and developing a team of Application Engineers responsible for proposal development, submittal documentation, and custom switchgear application support. Managing team workload, schedules, assignments, training, performance feedback, and day-to-day workflow to support department productivity and project commitments. Reviewing sales RFQs, customer specifications, drawings, bills of material, schematics, wiring prints, point lists, and related documentation for accuracy and completeness. Supporting the development of custom low- and medium-voltage switchgear control and distribution systems for critical power applications. Partnering with internal and external team leaders, Order Engineering, Outside Sales, Test, and Field Service teams to improve processes, standards, and project execution. Providing project schedules, status updates, and technical guidance to support timely proposal, submittal, and release activities. Participating in pre-submittal and submittal review meetings to support project alignment, approvals, and customer requirements. You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 20+ years of experience with the following: Electrical power control circuit design, diesel generator control, and switchgear system operation. AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Windows-based tools, and engineering documentation platforms. Managing multiple engineering projects, technical priorities, and cross-functional deliverables simultaneously. Demonstrated experience leading, managing, scheduling, training, and developing technical engineering teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, management, customers, and cross-functional partners. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with minimal supervision. 10+ years of experience in PLC-based and relay control logic, electrical metering, protective relaying, and SCADA systems.
