Application Packaging Engineer - 3618603

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Application Packaging Engineer position! This is a 12+ months contract and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY with 4x/week in office and 1x/week remote. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the automation of software installations across all bank endpoints (laptops, desktops, tablets, servers, and virtual devices) using standardized methods and enterprise delivery tools
• Monitor and manage packaging requests through Jira, evaluating requirements, smoke testing applications, and determining optimal packaging methods for deployment
• Design, build, and test application packages using industry-standard tools (InstallShield, PSADT, MSIX) and automate installations through SCCM/Intune delivery platforms
• Provide technical assistance and high-level support to the Desktop Engineering Team and SCCM Operations on application packaging, delivery, and troubleshooting failed deployments
• Collaborate with multiple internal technical teams responsible for configuration, security, maintenance, and support of the enterprise desktop environment
• Drive process improvements as the team transitions to Microsoft Intune, including developing remediation processes for application vulnerabilities and further automating packaging workflows
• Produce and maintain packaging standards, knowledge base articles, operating procedures, and comprehensive system documentation
• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers and technicians, reviewing documentation, proposals, and changes to ensure adherence to best practices and company standards

What You'll Need to Have:

• 5+ years of experience with Windows environments (Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server) with hands-on software automation and packaging expertise
• Strong background in Microsoft SCCM and/or Intune for software deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise applications
• Proficiency with packaging tools and scripting languages including InstallShield, PowerShell, PSAppDeploy Toolkit (PSADT), and MSIX packaging format
• Solid understanding of how applications interact with operating systems and experience with enterprise desktop solutions using industry-standard tools
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with excellent problem-solving, multitasking, and remote troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Jira and ServiceNow for ticket management and workflow tracking
• Strong attention to detail and proven ability to facilitate effective communication across technical teams and varying levels of management

Pay Range: $45-50/hr
