At United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM), we are looking for dedicated Application Security Engineer I to join our expanding application security teams. These positions are vital in addressing the growing security needs of our development teams by ensuring close collaboration and integration between security and development efforts. This Application Security Engineer will support our DevOps teams!
This role will work 100% onsite in Pontiac, MI.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Collaborative Engagement:
Work directly with assigned development teams, participating in design meetings and functional weekly meetings to provide security insights from the project’s inception. - Vulnerability Management:
Assist teams in identifying, prioritizing, and understanding vulnerabilities, ensuring timely and effective resolutions. - Security Integration:
Embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to promote a culture of security awareness. - Proactive Communication:
Quickly gather and convey all necessary information regarding development team security requests to facilitate prompt action. - Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with product owners and development teams to enhance security protocols and practices, staying ahead of the latest security trends.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
Must Have Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer.
- Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficient in scripting languages, Python, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with SAST, DAST, and security testing concepts.
- familiarity with AI concepts.
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles.
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices and familiarity with common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top Ten).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work 100% on-site in Pontiac, Michigan.
Nice To Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field.
