Application Tester (CJIS)

Job Description

The CJIS Application Tester will support the Connecticut Information Sharing System (CISS) by conducting system testing, user acceptance testing, and requirements validation. The role involves creating test cases, executing tests, documenting results, defect management, and supporting automation framework development. The tester will collaborate with project managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with CJIS Security Policies.

Key responsibilities:

Create and execute test cases, document results, and report defects.
Support defect resolution and provide testing consultation.
Perform testing for new releases and stakeholder-driven updates.
Develop presentations and reports for stakeholders.
Validate traceability matrix against contractual requirements.
Build and maintain automation frameworks integrated with DevOps.
Required Skills

Bachelor’s in Computer Technology, programming exposure, and software design patterns.
5–7 years of IT project testing experience.
Experience with NIEM XML or other complex XML standards.
Manual testing of web services using SoapUI/Postman.
Knowledge of IBM Rational Jazz Suite (preferred).
Strong understanding of SOA technologies.
Ability to script complex SQL queries (MS SQL Server).
Proficiency in C# or Java.
Experience with automation reporting tools (Extent Reports).
Knowledge of GitHub and data-driven automation testing.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Skills

Familiarity with DevOps integration.
Experience in large integrated systems with complex traceability.
Strong documentation and stakeholder presentation abilities.
Proficiency in MS Excel for reporting.
