KSTA I.T is actively seeking an Applications Developer foran immediate contract engagement with our client.

Job Description:

We Are Seeking an Applications Developer to support the configuration, enhancement, development, and ongoing support of a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) enterprise application. This role will participate throughout the application lifecycle, including requirements gathering and analysis, application configuration, user access setup, scripting, development of enhancements, debugging, testing, source control, implementation planning, and production support.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with SQL databases and object-oriented development technologies, along with a strong understanding of software development methodologies, coding standards, and best practices. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and an eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and application environments.

Responsibilities:

·         Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for application enhancements and change requests.

·         Configure and maintain application functionality based on established business requirements and technical specifications.

·         Perform application configuration activities, including reference table setup and other system-level configuration tasks.

·         Configure and maintain user accounts, roles, permissions, and access to application functionality.

·         Develop application enhancements and custom solutions in response to approved change requests.

·         Create and maintain scripts used to support application functionality, configuration, automation, or operational processes.

·         Analyze application behavior and troubleshoot technical issues through debugging and root-cause analysis.

·         Perform application testing to validate configurations, enhancements, fixes, and new functionality.

·         Support source control and version management practices for application development activities.

·         Prepare implementation specifications and technical documentation for application changes and releases.

·         Support application deployments and production implementation activities.

·         Provide ongoing production support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for enterprise applications.

·         Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective application solutions.

·         Apply established software development standards, coding practices, and development methodologies throughout the application lifecycle.

·         Work effectively within both traditional and Agile software development environments.

·         Research and learn new technologies, tools, and application capabilities as needed.

·         Participate in continuous improvement activities related to application development, configuration, testing, and support.

Required Skills

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.

·         2+ years of experience working with SQL databases.

·         2+ years of experience with object-oriented development using technologies such as .NET, Java, C#, or Visual Basic.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate application requirements and technical issues.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.

·         Working knowledge of software development methodologies, standards, coding practices, and development best practices.

·         Understanding of both traditional and Agile software development methodologies.

·         Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into application configurations, enhancements, and technical solutions.

·         Ability to troubleshoot application issues and support software through development, testing, implementation, and production.

·         Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple technical tasks and priorities.

·         Demonstrated willingness and enthusiasm to learn new technologies, applications, and development techniques.

Preferred Skills

·         Experience developing or supporting web services.

·         Familiarity with APIs and application integrations.

·         Experience working with AWS or other cloud environments.

·         Knowledge of SQL stored procedures.

·         Experience supporting COTS enterprise applications.

·         Experience with application configuration, user access management, and reference data maintenance.

·         Experience with software debugging, scripting, source control, and application testing.

·         Experience preparing technical implementation specifications and application support documentation.
