About the Opportunity: We are seeking an Applications Engineer (Airflow Controls) to join our growing team supporting critical environments throughout the Northeast. In this role, you will work closely with consulting engineers, facility owners, contractors, and internal project teams to develop technical solutions for highly specialized HVAC and airflow control applications.

Our projects support some of the most demanding environments in the industry, including laboratories, healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing spaces, research institutions, and other mission-critical facilities where environmental control, occupant safety, and system performance are essential.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, collaborating with customers, and seeing projects move from concept through implementation.

What You'll Do
  • Provide application engineering support for HVAC, airflow control, pressurization, and environmental control systems
  • Review plans, specifications, and engineering documents to develop system recommendations
  • Perform equipment selection, sizing, and technical analysis
  • Prepare submittals, technical documentation, and project proposals
  • Work directly with consulting engineers, contractors, facility owners, and end users to identify project requirements
  • Support project managers and field service teams during project execution and commissioning activities
  • Assist with troubleshooting, system optimization, and startup activities as needed
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices related to critical environment HVAC systems
  • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in application engineering, HVAC design, mechanical systems, controls, or a related field
  • Understanding of HVAC systems, airflow control, building automation systems (BAS), or mechanical building systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software tools

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with laboratory, healthcare, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or mission-critical environments
  • Familiarity with airflow control systems, room pressurization, ventilation design, or building automation systems
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design platforms
