Key Responsibilities
_Technical Support & Application Expertise_ + Provide advanced engineering support forPPEproducts and services,including elastomeric& thermoplastic seals, andcustom sealing systems. + Review customer technical requirements, specifications, and operating conditions to recommendoptimalseal designs. + Provide detailed technical proposals, product recommendations, product designs, and material selections based on customer and industry requirements. + Overseefailure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action recommendations. + Prepare detailed manufacturing drawingsincludingappropriate tolerances,limitsand fitsfor non-O-Ring product. _Customer & Commercial Support_ + Supportsales, product management,and other functionstopromote PPE materials, products and servicesat customer sites, technical seminars, tradeshowsand industry forums. + Attend customer meetings, technical reviews, and site visits as needed to provide expert consultation. + Support the sales teams to ensuretimelyandaccurateresponse to RFQs (RequestForQuotation) through the CRM system. + Deliver technical presentationsincludinggeneric and specialised training courses to internal&externalcustomers and suppliers. + Manage and control SKU’s for through J.D Edwards. _Product Development & Innovation_ + Work with customers,salesandproduct managementfunctions to develop detailed and relevant specifications for new product developments. + Work closely withR&Dand manufacturing functions along withidentifiedthird partiesto develop materials,productsand services. Ensures thatnew and existing productsmeet customer and industry requirements. + Work with sales functionstoleveragethe commercial opportunities resulting from the qualification ofnew & existingproducts and services. + Identifyemergingtechnological, political and markettrendstoenhancing the product portfolio. + Build a detailed understanding of customer & industry requirements and competitor offerings for sealing materials,productsand services within target segments. + Provides voice of customer to contribute to development ofproduct strategy andproduct developmentroadmaps.
Qualifications
_Education & Experience_ + Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, relateddisciplineor equivalent professional qualification. + Experience ineitherdesigning,developingandvalidatingelastomeric sealing solutionsor having experience working with polymeric sealing products in the semi-conductor, energy, life-sciences, marinepropulsionor similar industries. _Technical Skills_ + Knowledge ofpolymeric sealingmaterials (e.g. elastomers, thermoplastics, composites) andassociatedmanufacturing processes. + Competent user of 3D CAD systems (familiarity with SolidWorks would be an advantage), engineering analysis tools (e. g. FEA and FSD systems) and Microsoft Office products. + Understanding of mechanical design principles,including materials technology, stress analysis,fluid dynamics,tribologyandthermodynamics. + Abilitytounderstandcustomerand industrytechnical requirements includingtheinterpretation of engineering drawings(geometry, dimensions, tolerances etc)and material/productand testspecifications. Able todisseminatethose requirements throughout the organisation. _Soft Skills_ + Able to effectively communicate engineering details to both technically and non-technically minded people. + Customer-centric mindset,able to appreciate the specific factors for success in target sectors. + Experience with problem solving techniques andproven ability to solve complexengineeringproblems. + Strong project management,planning,prioritisation, and decision-making skills. + Ability to work effectively in atransnational, cross-functional environmentincluding travellingdomestically&internationallywhenrequired. _Key Performance Indicators_ + Customer satisfaction and responsiveness metrics. + On-time delivery of technical support and engineering solutions. + Quality and effectiveness of engineering recommendations and failure analyses. + Contribution to sales growth and product innovation initiatives.
