    Description

    Our client is seeking an Applications Engineer to support domestic and international sales channels by selecting, quoting, troubleshooting, and promoting industrial pump and control products. The role provides technical expertise to internal teams, distributors, and end users, helping expand market share across key industrial sectors.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform all work in compliance with OSHA safety standards.
    • Competitor cross‑reference — Identify equivalent products and competitive alternatives.
    • Continuous improvement — Participate in quality, safety, and process‑improvement initiatives.
    • Training & product promotion — Support product training programs for distributors, sales teams, and end users.
    • Technical quotation support — Prepare formal product quotations using price lists, datasheets, and ERP tools.
    • Pump application analysis — Identify customer requirements through direct interaction with distributors and end users.
    • Technical communication — Explain mechanical, electrical, and application‑specific issues to customers and sales personnel.
    • Control panel requirements — Interpret electrical schematics and panel logic; collaborate with Controls Engineering on engineered solutions.
    • Product selection — Recommend pumps, controls, replacement components, and accessories based on performance curves, system requirements, and pumped‑fluid properties.

    Qualifications (Must-Haves)

    • CAD/SolidWorks (preferred)
    • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
    • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering.
    • ERP systems (Dynamics/Business Central preferred)
    • Minimum 3 years in a sales engineering or technical applications role.
    • Experience preparing formal product quotations and supporting technical sales activities.
    • Ability to read and interpret pump performance curves, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics.
    • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

    Nice‑to‑Haves:

    • CAD/SolidWorks experience.
    • Familiarity with control panel logic.
    • Knowledge of pump construction and material selection.
    • Experience with municipal specifications and bid processes.
    • ERP experience, preferably Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central.
