we are seeking an Applications Engineer to develop concepts, pricing, and proposals for automated equipment, tooling, fixtures, and inspection systems.

This position is ideal for an experienced Toolmaker, Machine Builder, CNC Programmer, Manufacturing Technician, Mechanical Designer, or Automation Professional looking to leverage their hands-on manufacturing knowledge in a more technical, customer-focused role. You'll work closely with engineering, sales, and project teams to develop practical solutions, estimate project costs, and support customer proposals.

Key Responsibilities
\n

- Review customer specifications, statements of work, drawings, and other technical documentation to develop project concepts and quotations.
- \n
- Prepare proposals, estimates, bills of materials (BOMs), and pricing packages for custom automation equipment, tooling, fixtures, and gauges.
- \n
- Work closely with mechanical and controls engineering teams to develop accurate concepts and project scopes.
- \n
- Support sales and business development efforts by providing technical input during the quotation process.
- \n
- Participate in quote review meetings and customer discussions as needed.
- \n
- Assist with equipment and tooling concepts, layouts, and design recommendations.
- \n
- Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and external suppliers to gather technical and cost information.
- \n
- Assemble complete project handoff packages for engineering and production teams.
- \n
- Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes, project costing, and proposal development procedures.
- \n
- Support project schedules and customer deadlines as required.

Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Technical degree, apprenticeship, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience.
- \n
- Experience in tooling, machining, machine building, automation, manufacturing engineering, estimating, or custom equipment design.
- \n
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, customer specifications, and statements of work.
- \n
- Experience creating or working with bills of materials (BOMs), material costing, and project estimates.
- \n
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, automation systems, or custom machinery.
- \n
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- \n
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD software is beneficial.
- \n
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
