Job Details

The Applications Engineer serves as the primary technical interface between our engineering organization and OEM customers. Rather than focusing on product design, this role supports customer applications by understanding technical requirements, troubleshooting hydraulic systems, recommending engineered solutions, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, building customer relationships, and working hands-on with mobile hydraulic systems in the field.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical resource for OEM customers
Support customer applications involving mobile hydraulic systems
Troubleshoot hydraulic system performance and application issues
Interpret and analyze hydraulic schematics and system designs
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop customized hydraulic solutions
Gather customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications
Support product selection, system optimization, and application recommendations
Conduct onsite customer visits to provide technical support and application assistance
Build long-term relationships with OEM customers through exceptional technical service
Assist with product demonstrations, testing, and technical presentations
Support trade shows, customer meetings, and new product introductions
Coordinate with internal engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure customer satisfaction
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent industry experience)
Experience with mobile hydraulic systems
Customer-facing technical support experience
Experience supporting OEM customers
Strong hydraulic troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Willingness to travel extensively throughout assigned territories
Preferred
Applications engineering experience
Field applications engineering background
Experience with mobile equipment manufacturers
Hydraulic systems integration experience
Technical sales or application engineering experience
Off-highway equipment experience including construction, agriculture, mining, forestry, or utility vehicles
Experience with hydraulic component manufacturers or distributors
Preferred Industry Background

Candidates with experience from the following types of organizations are highly encouraged to apply:

Hydraulic systems integrators
Mobile equipment OEMs
Fluid power engineering organizations

Experience with companies such as Parker Hannifin, Bosch Rexroth, Danfoss, HydraForce, Sun Hydraulics, Eaton, Bucher, Husco, HAWE, Walvoil, Continental Hydraulics, HydraDyne, Motion, or SunSource is highly desirable.
