Job Description
- Lead and develop Application Engineering and Technical Service teams.
- Provide technical leadership for customer investigations and application challenges.
- Guide root cause analysis efforts and validate technical recommendations.
- Establish standardized laboratory and application engineering processes.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of scientific rigor and customer focus.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, Sales, R&D, Quality, Production, and Customer Service.
- Oversee application testing, product evaluations, and validation activities.
- Support customer solution development and technical problem resolution.
- Partner with Sales teams to identify product opportunities and support business growth.
- Deliver technical training to customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, competitive technologies, and emerging application requirements.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory, environmental, safety, and quality standards.
- Promote best practices across regional and global technical support organizations.
- Communicate investigation findings and technical recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant
A successful Applications Engineering Manager should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of leadership experience within laboratory, application engineering, or technical service environments.
- Experience with adhesives, coatings, or related materials technologies preferred.
- Strong technical problem-solving and root cause analysis expertise.
- Experience leading customer-facing technical teams.
- Strong understanding of laboratory testing, validation, and application development processes.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing technical personnel.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience working cross-functionally with commercial and technical teams.
- Familiarity with ERP systems; JD Edwards experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
