Applications Engineering Manager | CNC

Description

• Develop, test, and implement applications to support engineering and manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements.
• Ensure software solutions align with industry standards and company objectives.
• Mentor, coach, and develop Applications Engineers while fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Develop engineering standards, best practices, and technical documentation.
• Identify process improvements and remove obstacles that prevent the engineering team from being successful.
• Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and development of engineering personnel.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for implemented applications.
• Optimize existing systems to improve performance and reliability.
• Document technical processes and create user guides for applications.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions.
• Assist in project planning and timeline management for software development initiatives.

Profile

A successful Application Engineer should have:

• Minimum eight years of progressive hands-on experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, applications engineering, machine tool applications, or turnkey manufacturing.
• Previous experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Programmer, Manufacturing Engineer, Applications Engineer, or similar hands-on manufacturing role.
• Experience with one or more major CAM systems such as Mastercam, Siemens, ESPRIT ect
• Okay with occasional travel in this role
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and customer-facing skills.
• Expert knowledge of multi-axis machining, mill-turn, and multitasking machine tools.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams while remaining actively engaged in engineering activities
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.
• Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools is an advantage.
