Job Title Applications Specialist
Primary Role The Applications Specialist supports administers and optimizes district-wide software applications to improve instructional and operational efficiency. This role focuses on application administration, business process analysis, system integrations, and support for core platforms including Google Workspace, Google Admin, and Skyward Qmlativ, as well as third-party educational and administrative applications.
Education and Experience Bachelors degree in an IT-related field preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting enterprise or educational applications Experience in K-12 or public-sector environments preferred Relevant certifications Google, Microsoft, or application-specific preferred Other combinations of education and experience may be considered
Skills • Strong knowledge of application administration and user account management • Experience supporting Google Workspace and Google Admin tools • Experience supporting Student Information Systems Skyward Qmlativ preferred • Analytical and problem-solving skills related to application workflows and data • Ability to document processes and develop user-friendly support materials • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively • Commitment to cybersecurity and data privacy best practices
Responsibilities Administer and support Google Workspace, Google Admin, Skyward Qmlativ, and other district-wide applications Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 application support and troubleshooting Analyze business and instructional requirements to recommend effective application solutions Manage user access roles, permissions, and configurations across supported systems Support third-party educational and administrative applications used district-wide Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve system efficiency Develop and maintain application documentation, training materials, and FAQs Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders on application issues and enhancements Assist with application upgrades, integrations, and new system implementations Monitor application performance, data integrity, and system usage Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, and district policies Track application-related trends and recommend improvements or replacements Participate in projects supporting district initiatives and strategic goals Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional ethical behavior Support the mission and goals of Community ISD
