Full-Time Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Technician/ Registered Behavior Technician (grades 7-12) Millbury Memorial Jr./Sr. High School 2026-2027 School Year

DESCRIPTION: The ABA Technician/RBT provides instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students in both general education and specialized settings. Working under the supervision of Special Education staff and a Behavior Specialist, the ABA Technician implements evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies to support student growth, independence, and access to the curriculum. This role may involve working one-on-one with a student, supporting a small group, or assisting multiple students across various environments within the school community. The ABA Technician/RBT plays an essential role in ensuring students receive individualized supports that promote academic progress, self-regulation, communication, positive behavior, and safe participation in school and community activities. GENERAL DUTIES: Duties as an ABA Technician will vary depending on the particular assignment. It is possible to be working with one student, a group of students, or a large group in general education or a substantially separate setting.

Duties may include: Providing coverage for Classroom/Sped teachers for meetings Preparing materials for teachers in the Special Education department Setting up assistive technology for student use Participating in weekly training/consultation with the classroom teacher Reinforcing previously taught concepts in a small group setting Communicating with the liaison regarding the progress of students Administering daily content area tests/quizzes as well as standardized tests Documenting student progress both academically and behaviorally Reinforcing instruction of general education under the direction of a Special Education Teacher Accompanying students to the General Education classroom and providing modifications to instruction Constant monitoring and alerting the nurse to medical needs Assisting with self-help skills, including but not limited to clothing, feeding, and toileting Supporting students at job sites and/or during a variety of community trips Participating in student progress meetings when requested, and providing input for progress reports and objectives; informing appropriate staff of program changes and updates Completing parent communication logs and district documents as required Participating in required professional development, such as restraint training, CPR/First Aid certification, and staff meetings and extended day sessions Demonstrating flexibility when daily schedules change Being aware of and adhering to confidentiality protocol Providing adult supervision as a bus monitor, cafeteria monitor, and/or during extracurricular activities, as needed Completing other duties that are designated by the Lead Teacher and/or Behavior Specialist, Building Principal, or Director of Pupil Services

Duties specific to ABA Technicians: Serve as a bus monitor for morning and afternoon runs Cafeteria Duty Support students during extracurricular activities, as needed Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum programs and modifications, including but not limited to augmentative communication devices, task analysis, and discrete trial materials Maintaining students' program books, including but not limited to organizing assessments, documenting programmatic changes, and conducting reinforcement assessments Implementing instructional and behavioral programs as designed by the Behavior Specialist Using ABA procedures to conduct and amend student programs and record appropriate data in pull-out and inclusion settings. This includes, but is not limited to, discrete trials, social stories, and social skills training Modeling ABA techniques and providing support for other staff as requested by the Behavior Specialist Conducting data collection at all stages of skill acquisition

Duties specific to Bus Monitor (AM and PM runs): Monitor student passengers for appropriate social distancing and face-covering/mask-wearing Assist the bus driver in maintaining discipline on the school bus Assist students entering and leaving the vehicle by providing hands-on fastening of passenger seat belts to provide student safety, as needed Ability to interact with all students who may have mental or physical challenges in a caring and compassionate manner Ability to handle any unexpected effects of traffic, weather, student activity, noise, or emergency situations Communicate with school personnel concerning student needs, medical history, and behavior as appropriate Assist the driver in the event of an evacuation of the vehicle, providing first aid or other applicable procedures in case of an emergency Assist students in unfastening seat belts upon departure of the vehicle, as needed

Duties specific to Cafeteria Monitor: Ensure the safety of student(s) Monitor students for appropriate social distancing and face-covering/mask-wearing Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten, assisting students who need assistance Monitor students and their behavior during meals in the lunchroom and refer problems to the principal Dismiss classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time

Duties specific to supporting students during extracurricular activities: Ensure the safety of student(s) Redirect students' attention to the task or activity Encourage and praise student participation Accompany students to off-site-related events (including but not limited to track meets, band performances, etc.) Supervise the student until s/he departs on the school bus or until their parent/guardian picks them up

QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma required. Associate's Degree, or higher, in education or related field required for some positions Experience or training in ABA, preferred Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certified, preferred

WORK SCHEDULE: Anticipated Hours School Day Hours: 7:30 - 2:00 pm Bus monitoring: 6:35 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., includes ½ hr. unpaid lunch School Year 2026-2027 begins Monday, August 31, 2026

SALARY: Per the Instructional Assistant/ABA Technician contract
