JOB INFORMATION
This position will assist program faculty in lecture and lab as required, to report on student progress and skill, and to prepare lab spaces and materials for student projects. This position is also the primary support for cleanliness, maintenance, and repair of all program area spaces and equipment. This position will order materials and supplies as directed or needed in support of the program, and monitor spending to keep within budget.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lab Support
Maintains computer lab and equipment within scope of responsibility, escalates maintenance to proper levels such as facilities, IT, or external support; Ensures that lab areas are in compliance with health, fire, and Oregon OSHA standards; reports safety/sanitary/fire hazards to program chair and/or supervisor
Enforces lab practices set forth by the department; provides security of labs and equipment during work hours; secures all doors and windows
Stays current with software and technology and its impact on educational requirements to meet those changes
Instructional Assistance
Assists students in the use of computers, file management, printers and plotters, special purpose software, 3D printing/scanning technology, and in resolving program or drafting difficulties
Follows program schedule and assists instructors as directed; assists instructors in identifying student progress in relation to course objectives for grading purposes; provides program orientation to new students as needed
Participates in department meetings; contributes to the program dialog regarding curriculum, student recruitment, and future direction
Advises faculty and/or supervisor, in confidence, of student viewpoints concerning the department and the college; maintains a healthy and professional atmosphere in the lab and reports student issues or concerns immediately to the supervisor
Assists in the recruitment and retention of students through responsibility for open house, displays, public demonstration of current technology, computers, and electronic equipment; aids in locating employers for students
Department Responsibilities
Coordinates inventory of supplies and equipment; requests and prepares proper documentation for equipment and supply orders
Performs purchasing and aids in the budgeting of instructional and maintenance materials and equipment; responsible for department requisitions and budget monitoring following all departmental and college practices
Supervises and coordinates student employees working in the department

Minimum Qualifications:
This level requires an equivalency of two (2) years of full-time work experience that reflects the knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions listed above
This is typically achieved through an Associate's Degree in Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology or other closely related field
Two (2) years of full-time work experience which reflects the knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions listed above.
The college will review relevant education and experience as equivalent in most cases. Some experience cannot be exchanged for education and is noted above, if relevant.

Preferred Qualifications:
Work experience as a drafting technician or closely related career
Paid work experience in Surveying, 3D printing and/or scanning, manufacturing, or construction
Knowledge and skill in using Inventor, Solidworks, Revit and Civil 3D

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Even though weight lifted may be negligible, it may be rated light work if frequent walking and/or standing is required.

Chemeketa Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
