Washington County is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Appraisal Assistant to support our property appraisal team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of fieldwork, data analysis, and customer interaction. You'll play a key part in ensuring accurate property assessments that support essential county services.
What You'll Do
Collect and verify property data through site visits, measurements, and inspections
Take photos and document property characteristics (interior & exterior)
Assist with sketching and mapping using appraisal and CAMA software
Review property records, legal documents, and subdivision data
Enter and maintain accurate data in county systems and spreadsheets
Support appraisal staff with research and administrative tasks
Assist the public by answering questions in person, over the phone, and in the field
Help process residential exemption applications and verify documentation
Collaborate with building departments and internal teams
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in real estate, construction, or customer service (or equivalent combination)
Additional Requirements:
Valid Utah driver's license
Ability to perform fieldwork in varying weather conditions
Willingness to complete required appraisal coursework within 12 months
