Location: Buford, GA -- Reporting to 2400 Satellite Blvd, Suite A 

Job Summary 

Are you mechanically inclined, love working with your hands, and want to learn a specializedtrade? Aaron Overhead Doors is looking for an Apprentice Installer to join our team in Buford,GA. 

This position installs and services high-end motorized and manual retractable screen systems, patio enclosures, and garage door screens in residential homes. The work requires a combination of mechanical ability, basic carpentry, basic electrical knowledge, problem-solving, and attention to detail. 

Experience with retractable screens is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with their hands, takes pride in the quality of their work, and is willing to learn. 

Key Responsibilities 

Measure openings and verify framing, clearances, and installation conditions before beginning work. 

Install motorized and manual retractable screens, garage door screens, patio enclosure systems, and related products. 

Perform basic carpentry and finish work, including cutting, fitting, fastening, modifying trim, adding blocking, and preparing mounting surfaces as needed for proper installation. Perform basic electrical work related to motorized screen systems, including motor connections, low-voltage wiring, switches, controls, and programming remotes and wall controls. 

Install, fasten, anchor, level, and adjust screen housings, tracks, guides, and related components on brick, stucco, wood, aluminum, and other surfaces. 

Safely operate hand and power tools used for cutting, drilling, fastening, assembly, and installation. 

Inspect, test, and adjust screens for proper tension, alignment, tracking, sealing, and operation. 

Troubleshoot mechanical, installation, and basic electrical issues. 

Identify installation conditions or potential problems before they affect the finished product. 

Protect the customer's home and maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site. Communicate professionally with homeowners, explain basic product operation, and provide excellent customer service. 

Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle in good working condition. Follow company installation procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.

Basic carpentry skills or the ability to learn them. 

Basic electrical knowledge or willingness to learn. 

Attention to detail and ability to take accurate measurements. 

Comfortable using hand and power tools. 

Comfortable working from ladders and at varying heights. 

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. 

Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned jobs once properly trained. Willingness to learn both motorized and manual retractable screen systems. Good communication skills and a professional attitude when working in customers' homes. 

Construction, carpentry, installation, electrical, garage door, awning, shade, or similar trade experience is a plus but not required. 

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. 

Compensation & Growth 

We provide hands-on training and product-specific training. This position offers the opportunity to develop skills in installation, carpentry, electrical troubleshooting, and advanced motorized screen systems. 

There is also an opportunity to advance into a Lead Installer position based on demonstrated skill, quality of work, reliability, performance, and business needs.
