Edwards Moving & Rigging, a family-owned and operated company, is looking for an Apprentice Rigger to join our team in Shelbyville, KY.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn the rigging trade while gaining real experience in the field. You will work as part of a crew, supporting heavy hauling and specialized rigging operations across a range of job sites.

Key Responsibilities

As an Apprentice Rigger, you will support daily crew operations and learn safe, effective rigging practices. Your duties will include:

• Carrying out general labor tasks as part of a crew.
• Operating equipment such as forklifts and skid steers.
• Attaching loads to rigging equipment to prepare them for movement.
• Using hand tools, power tools, hydraulic tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• Inspecting and testing rigging equipment to support safe and reliable operations.
• Working safely in demanding and safety-sensitive environments.

The Apprentice Rigger role offers a salary of $54,000 to $60,000, along with a strong benefits package, including:

We are looking for someone reliable, safety-minded, and ready to learn. Construction experience or heavy equipment operating experience is heavily preferred. Experience in heavy rigging, cranes, or heavy trucking is also a strong plus.

You will also need:

• CDL Class A preferred.
• Ability to speak and read fluent English to complete required safety training.
• Ability to gain access to safety-sensitive environments, including nuclear plants.
• A clean criminal record history.
• Willingness to complete ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
• The role includes extensive travel, with around 150 to 200 nights away from home each year.
