YOUR MISSION

As an Apprentice Technician, you will support spacecraft production, mechanical assembly, integration, and testing while developing the skills needed to become a well- rounded spacecraft technician. This entry-level role is designed for individuals with limited

industry experience who are eager to learn through hands-on training, mentorship, and cross-functional exposure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Mechanical Assembly and Integration: Support the assembly and integration of spacecraft structures, components, mechanisms, panels, brackets, fasteners, and flight

hardware. Assist with the installation and removal of components under the guidance of experienced technicians.

Basic Mechanical Operations: Perform fastening, torquing, taping, hardware installation, part preparation, and other basic mechanical tasks after appropriate training.

Test Support: Assist with spacecraft and component test setup and execution, including functional and environmental testing, fixture installation, test equipment setup, and post- test activities.Tools and Documentation: Learn to safely use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, measuring equipment, and production equipment. Read and follow drawings, work instructions, procedures, and manufacturing documentation.

Shop and Material Support: Support hardware movement, material handling, tool control, shop organization, inventory activities, and general production needs.

Safety and Quality: Follow FOD, ESD, cleanliness, hardware-handling, personal protective equipment, and shop safety requirements. Document completed work and communicate discrepancies or concerns to technicians, leads, engineers, and management.

Cross-Training: Develop skills across mechanical production, spacecraft integration, and test. Flex between work areas as production priorities and program needs change.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-1 year of manufacturing, mechanical, technical, automotive, aerospace, aviation,

electronics, or similar hands-on experience.

• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and willing to take on new responsibilities.
• Ability to work across multiple areas of a production shop.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and work in and around constrained or confined spaces.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Trade school, technical school, apprenticeship, or relevant technical training.
• Experience or coursework in manufacturing, mechanical systems, automotive,

aviation, aerospace, electronics, machining, or a related field.

• Exposure to engineering drawings, work instructions, torque tools, calipers, gauges, or other measurement equipment.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, maintenance, laboratory, or technical environment.

COMPENSATION

• Base Salary:  

• Apprentice Technician: $24-33/hr

• *this position is non-exempt and is eligible for overtime

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work Location-this a fully onsite position based out of our Long Beach, CA office.
• Work environment-the work environment; temperature, noise level, inside or outside, or other factors that will affect the person's working conditions while performing the job.
• Physical demands-the physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting and driving.
