Description
Lee County is looking for motivated and dependable people to join our paid Apprenticeship Program in the Utilities and Facilities Construction & Management departments. This is a great chance to learn a skilled trade, earn a steady income, and start a long-term career, without college debt.
We are offering full-time Apprenticeship positions in Electrical and HVAC. These roles are perfect for people who enjoy hands-on work, want to learn valuable skills, and are ready to build their future with the third-largest employer in our area.
These positions are part of a state-certified, 4-year training program with paid on-the-job learning and evening classes. You will learn from experienced professionals while building a strong career path.

Duties and Responsibilities
Electrical Apprentice - Utilities
Utilities Electricians work in the water and wastewater systems. You will learn:
Voltage/Wattage Notes:
Utilities electrical work often involves higher voltage than typical building work.
Lift stations use stronger electrical systems to power pumps, motors, and controls that move wastewater through the county system.
Electrical Apprentice - Facilities
Facilities Electricians work inside county buildings and facilities. You will learn:
Voltage/Wattage Notes:
Facilities work is mainly low to medium voltage, commonly used in building operations.
The largest equipment you'll see includes 15-ton chillers, lighting systems, and large backup generators that support county buildings.

If you have retired from the Florida Retirement Pension plan you will not be eligible for renewed membership in either of the FRS retirement plan options. Retirees of the Investment Plan are eligible for renewed membership in the Investment Plan only. FRS reemployment rules apply for both.
