Position Overview
The Rider Assistant supports students who require additional instructional, behavioral, or personal assistance during school-related transitions. Working under the supervision of special education staff and designated school personnel, Rider Assistants help ensure students feel safe, supported, and successful during key parts of their school day.
Rider Assistants may also provide support with physical mobility or therapeutic care needs, as directed by qualified education or healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Assist students during morning and afternoon school transitions
Provide instructional and behavioral support as needed
Support students with personal care or physical mobility
Follow guidance from special education staff and supervising personnel
Help maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Ability to comply with professional standards of practice
Current CPR certification , if applicable
Completion of TB screening (questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray as required)
Current health certificate per contract or state regulation
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
