Our client is a fast-growing technology company operating in a fully remote environment with employees and business partners across multiple regions and time zones. As the company continues to scale, they are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to lead and optimize AR and collections operations while supporting the growth of the finance organization.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes, creating structure, and making a visible impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Position Overview

The Accounts Receivable Manager will report directly to the Director, Accounting Revenue based in Southern California and oversee the day-to-day Accounts Receivable function, including billing, collections, cash applications, customer account management, and process improvement initiatives.

This role will manage a distributed team consisting of three East Coast-based AR team members and one offshore resource in the Philippines. While the company is fully remote, preference will be given to candidates located in the Central or Eastern time zones, though flexible candidates outside those regions will also be considered.

The ideal candidate is analytical, process-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable & Collections
  • Oversee the full AR lifecycle including invoicing, collections, cash applications, reconciliations, and dispute resolution
  • Manage aging reports and drive collection efforts to improve cash flow and reduce DSO
  • Partner with customers and internal teams to resolve billing and payment issues
  • Monitor AR balances and identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities

Team Leadership & Operations
  • Lead and mentor a distributed AR team across multiple time zones, including offshore resources
  • Coordinate workflows and establish accountability across the team
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance remote culture
  • Ensure consistent execution of AR processes and service expectations

Revenue Accounting & Financial Close
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to AR and revenue operations
  • Prepare reconciliations, reporting schedules, and supporting documentation
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Revenue, FP&A, and Sales Operations teams
  • Assist with audits and compliance-related requests

Process Improvement & Controls
  • Develop and improve SOPs, internal controls, and scalable AR processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting, and operational efficiency
  • Assist with systems optimization and process standardization initiatives
  • Support continuous improvement efforts as the company grows

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive AR and collections experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Recent hands-on NetSuite experience required
  • Experience in AR, collections, and treasury operations required
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills, including large dataset management
  • Experience managing remote and offshore teams
  • Strong understanding of AR processes, reconciliations, and cash flow management
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within a technology or SaaS company preferred
  • Experience building SOPs, controls, and scalable processes strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups
  • ERP implementation or systems optimization experience is a plus

Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Opportunity to help build and improve processes; not just maintain them
  • High visibility and meaningful ownership from day one
  • Exposure to a fast-growing technology environment
  • Fully remote culture with collaborative leadership
  • Ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, and making an impact

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation and equity opportunities
