Archaeological Field Technicians

Dewberry seeks to hire Archaeological Field Technicians for an upcoming projects along the east coast of America, weather dependent. Additional work assignments may lead from this project contingent upon the quality of the archaeological services demonstrated throughout this assignment.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Minimum project requirements include successful completion of an archaeological field school
  • Bachelor's degree in anthropology, archaeology or related field.
  • Physical requirements include standing or kneeling for long periods of time, hiking in rugged terrain, and carrying up to 40 lbs of gear.
  • This project requires prior experience with GPS units in the field and traversing topographically challenging terrain to conduct a surface archaeological survey. Knowledge of precontact archaeological material is preferred.
  • The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to conduct all aspects of fieldwork in all weather conditions and be able to work under supervision and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience with all phases of excavation and artifact identification are a plus.
  • Hourly pay will depend upon archaeological experience.
