Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Licensed Architect on behalf of our client, a real estate development and investment firm. This role serves as the internal architectural lead, responsible for overseeing design direction, managing third-party partners, and ensuring all projects meet design, quality, and financial expectations. This is an opportunity for a strategic and hands-on professional looking to shape architectural processes across a growing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Leadership & Oversight:

Lead architectural direction across residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects
Define and refine project scope, design intent, and architectural standards
Review and approve drawings, plans, and specifications from external firms
Ensure designs align with brand vision, budget, constructability, and timelines

Third-Party Management:

Select, hire, and manage external architecture firms, consultants, and designers
Establish clear expectations, deliverables, and accountability for external partners
Serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and third-party teams

Project Execution:

Collaborate with development, construction, and investment teams throughout all project phases
Provide architectural guidance during entitlement, design, and construction
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure alignment with design intent

Process & Infrastructure Buildout:

Develop and implement internal architectural processes, workflows, and standards
Evaluate outsourcing versus in-house capabilities for architectural functions
Support the foundation for future team growth and scalability

Requirements include:

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field

Experience:

Proven experience in real estate development, residential, commercial, or mixed-use architecture
Experience managing and reviewing work from third-party design firms
Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a highly autonomous environment

Skills:

Strong design review and architectural oversight capabilities
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to balance design vision with budget, feasibility, and timelines

Certifications:

Licensed Architect (RA) required

Knowledge:

Deep understanding of architectural design, construction documentation, and project lifecycle
Familiarity with development processes and working with investors or developers
Knowledge of sustainable materials or alternative construction methods is a plus
Exposure to hospitality or mixed-use projects preferred
