Your Role

As a Gensler Project Architect, you will collaborate with a team of architects and designers to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction administration phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate sketches and documents into realized 3D models and construction drawings and can research technical issues when they arise. You will join Seattle Cities studio focused on critical facilities project types. Our critical facilities team extends beyond data centers, delivering high-performance projects for research, supercomputing, command and control centers, SCIFs, distribution and logistics, high-tech manufacturing, and various other technology-rich environments. We specialize in creating high-performing, sustainable buildings that embody visionary thinking and distinctive architectural character.

As a Gensler Project Architect, you will lead a team of architects and designers to develop innovative design solutions for critical facilities projects. You will oversee the design, management, and technical aspects of the projects from concept through construction administration, ensuring that all designs meet the highest standards of quality and performance. You will leverage your deep expertise in architectural design and construction to resolve complex technical issues and deliver successful project outcomes. Your leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills will be key to nurturing the talents of junior staff and driving the success of the studio.

What You Will Do

Participate in all phases of design

Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives

Manage project team and coordination of consultants

Take ownership of financial cycles by managing client follow-up, calendars, deadlines, meetings

Oversight of innovative design strategies and unique brand concepts on multiple projects

Work on new business proposals/presentations

Write and edit project communications for project teams such as scope and fee documents, meeting minutes, work plans, budgets and schedules

Understand key aspects of studio business and proactively develop ways to create better client engagements, people-centric approaches, and project efficiencies

Produce BIM models and construction drawings

Resolve challenging technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative, technical and constructible solutions

Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development

A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

Effective communicator, collaborative and team-conscious

Provide Mentorship and coaching to grow junior staff members

Maintain project manual and specifications

Participate in office culture and initiatives

Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges

Your Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited school

Licensure required

10+ years of experience in the profession of architectural design

Experience within Critical Facilities preferred

Strong experience working with Revit and Rhino

Proficiency with SketchUp, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but not required

Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants

Experience working directly with contractors

Experience resolving complex technical and design issues

Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions

Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done

Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship management skills

Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices required.

**The base salary will be estimated between $113,000 - $150,000. Gensler's total compensation package is multi-layered and includes a base salary, two annual bonuses paid in December and June, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and profit sharing.**
