Position Overview
The AI Security Architect within the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer will support the secure adoption of artificial intelligence across Client Client of South Carolina.
The role will translate AI security, risk, privacy, and compliance requirements into practical architecture patterns, controls, and implementation guidance.
The position will partner with Enterprise Architecture, I/S Delivery, Data Governance, Privacy, IAM, Vendor Risk, CSOC, Legal, Compliance, Audit, and business teams to ensure AI solutions are securely designed, reviewed, implemented, and monitored.
Must Have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent qualifying experience.
10+ years of IT experience.
Proven experience managing joint IS/Business teams through strategic challenges and business objectives.
Strong experience with AI security architecture, AI risk, security controls, privacy, and compliance.
Experience developing AI security standards, reference architectures, control requirements, and secure design patterns.
Experience conducting architecture/security reviews for AI solutions, including:
Data handling
Access controls
Encryption
Logging and monitoring
Data retention
Output handling
Integration safeguards
Experience with AI threat modeling, including risks such as:
Prompt injection
Data leakage
Unauthorized access
Model misuse
Insecure connectors
Machine identity exposure
AI-enabled impersonation
Nice to Have
Experience working with Enterprise Architecture, IAM, Data Governance, Privacy, Vendor Risk, CSOC, Legal, Compliance, or Audit teams.
Experience establishing enterprise-wide AI governance and security frameworks.
Experience evaluating AI vendors, models, integrations, connectors, plugins, and AI-enabled applications.
Experience in a large enterprise or highly regulated environment.
Education Equivalency
Candidates must meet one of the following:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering; OR 4 years of job-related work experience; OR
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering + 2 years of job-related experience.
