Architectural Design Drafter (Flex, Washington)

We are currently looking for an experienced Architectural Design Drafter for a flexible position to join one of our client's teams and support the delivery of architectural drawings for residential projects across Washington, including new homes, remodels, and additions.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AutoCAD and SketchUp and is comfortable working from the lead architect's sketches, PDF markups, and design direction to produce accurate drawings and simple 3D models through the Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document phases, with a strong background in luxury residential projects.

What you'll do:

• Develop and update 2D architectural drawings in AutoCAD from schematic design through construction documents.

• Translate hand sketches, layout studies, and PDF redlines into clear, organized drawings.

• Produce SD and DD sets, including floor plans, sections, and elevations.

• Create and update 3D models in SketchUp during the SD and DD phases based on the architect's markups.

• Prepare quick renderings during the SD and DD phases.

• Produce CD permit sets for presentation to local authorities.

• Produce CD sets for presentation to the general contractor.

• Pick up redlines during both SD and CD phases.

• Prepare and revise floor plans, elevations, and other project drawings, including kitchen and bathroom layouts as needed.

• Clean up drawings, maintain appropriate line weights, and follow the firm's established CAD and sheet standards.

• Check that revisions have been completed accurately before submitting work for review.

• Coordinate progress and questions using shared project folders and a Google Sheets task tracker.

• Potentially assist with permit corrections and related drawing revisions as projects progress.

What you must have:

• A degree in Architecture or a related field.

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Advanced English level, both written and spoken.

• Working knowledge of SketchUp for 3D modeling and quick renderings.

• Experience producing architectural drawings and construction documentation across SD, DD, and CD phases.

• Ability to interpret hand sketches, PDF markups, and design direction accurately.

• Experience working on luxury residential projects.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow project standards.
