Position Overview
Our client is seeking an Architectural Design Technician to join their highly collaborative architectural team in Portland, Oregon. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a fully integrated architecture and engineering practice.
As an Architectural Design Technician, you will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team focused on innovative problem-solving and design excellence. You will work on fast-paced projects with team members located throughout the country and around the world, supporting the design and construction of facilities that require advanced planning and building techniques.
Working alongside architects and designers supporting semiconductor projects, you will help develop technical design solutions and produce project drawings, specifications, and Revit models. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys working collaboratively, solving problems, and contributing to technically challenging projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Under general supervision, perform conventional aspects of architectural analysis and construction documentation, including:
- Model, prepare, and update architectural drawings and construction documentation using Revit and other applicable software.
- Manage and incorporate redlines and design changes provided by project team members.
- Develop architectural details in collaboration with architects, designers, engineers, and other disciplines.
- Perform thorough self-checking of work to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate architectural design and documentation with related disciplines to identify and resolve conflicts.
- Support the development of technical design solutions for complex facilities and structures.
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of project drawings, specifications, and models.
- Maintain reliable work practices to meet project schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills, seeking guidance or confirmation when questions or issues arise.
- Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a highly collaborative project environment.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to assignments and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Support project teams in delivering high-quality architectural solutions for clients.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Drafting & Design, Architecture, or a related field, or 2+ years of related professional experience within the architectural industry.
- Extensive modeling and drafting experience using Revit.
- Familiarity with architectural documentation standards and construction documents.
- Strong understanding of architectural drafting and design principles.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining schedule and quality expectations.
- Motivated self-starter who is punctual, proactive, dependable, and attentive.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- U.S. citizenship required.
