Job Description

Join a dynamic firm that specializes in planning, design, construction administration, inspection, and code consultation for a wide range of projects including luxury residential, commercial, aviation, entertainment, sports, retail, institutional, and hospitality sectors. The firm is currently working on exciting projects such as a sports training facility for a high school, gymnastics centers, residential homes, yacht clubs, funeral homes, and restaurants. With a project portfolio that is 60-70% commercial and 30-40% residential, this is an excellent opportunity for an architectural designer to engage in diverse and high-profile projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with architectural design and documentation across multiple active projects, ensuring a variety of work.
• Develop drawings and construction documents using Revit, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Support projects from schematic design through construction administration.
• Collaborate closely with the principal and small project teams to resolve design issues and revise drawings as projects evolve.
• Coordinate with consultants and internal team members to maintain seamless project execution.
• Maintain accuracy and quality control throughout project documentation.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of professional architectural experience.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Basic understanding of detailing and construction documents.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn quickly and avoid repeated mistakes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Commercial, mixed-use, or multifamily projects is strongly preferred.
• Ability to produce full sets of construction documents, design development.
• Comfortable working in a small, in-office environment.
• Motivated by project variety rather than specialization in one building type.

Work Environment

The work environment is a small office setting with two full-time employees and one administrative staff. The typical work hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The preference is for work to be conducted fully in-office, though there is flexibility for occasional remote work if necessary. The firm values direct communication with leadership and offers exposure to unique, high-profile projects. The culture is informal, without a heavy corporate structure, and focuses on work-life balance and mutual respect. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.03 - $48.46/hr.
