Job Title: Architectural Designer

Job Description

This Architectural Designer role focuses on supporting the design and production of architectural projects from concept through construction. You will develop high-quality design documents and BIM models, collaborating closely with project architects, engineers, and project managers. The position offers the opportunity to work in a small, growth-oriented team and to contribute to a wide range of project types while advancing your design and BIM expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models and 2D construction documents using Autodesk Revit.
  • Produce architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed views.
  • Assist in design development by translating conceptual ideas into clear and precise technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other disciplines to ensure design accuracy, constructability, and consistency across project documents.
  • Revise drawings and models based on client feedback, markups, and internal review comments.
  • Support project teams by preparing renderings, visualizations, and presentation materials for internal and client use.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, industry standards, and internal design guidelines.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to resolving design conflicts and clashes within the BIM environment.
  • Maintain organized project files and follow established BIM standards and workflows.
  • Assist with design documentation for commercial, industrial, or municipal projects as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an architectural or design role.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for BIM modeling and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of building systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Familiarity with building codes and permitting processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • BIM modeling and documentation skills, including Revit drafting and design.
  • Design visualization and strong spatial awareness.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic project environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience with architecture, architectural design, drafting, and design development.
  • Design/BIM design experience in a professional setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design tools.
  • Experience on commercial, industrial, or municipal projects.
  • Exposure to BIM coordination or clash detection processes.
  • Progress toward architectural licensure.
  • Experience with commercial design projects.
  • Interest in contributing to a small team with strong growth ambitions.

Work Environment

This role is based in an office environment in Maryville, where you will work side by side with a registered architect on a daily basis. The team operates as a small, collaborative group with a focus on growth and professional development. You will work primarily with digital design tools such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other BIM and visualization software. The environment emphasizes coordination with project architects, engineers, and project managers, and offers monthly bonuses tied to billable hours, reflecting a performance-oriented culture that values both quality and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
