Description
**Purpose of the role
**
Owns the production drawing set for a small-to-mid project or a defined package on a large one. Works with limited supervision and catches errors before the PA does.
Key responsibilities
Develop complete construction document sets from design development through issue for permit and bid.
Coordinate the architectural model against structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil models; identify and log clashes.
Produce door, window, room finish, and equipment schedules; keep them synchronized with the model.
Draft complex details — wall sections, stair and elevator sections, roof transitions, curtain wall head/sill/jamb, waterproofing terminations.
Support code review documentation: occupancy and egress plans, life safety plans, fire and smoke rated assembly tagging with correct UL designations.
Manage consultant background files and issue coordination sets.
Mentor Level I drafters on standards and technique.
Assist with construction administration: process submittals into the record set, draft sketches (ASKs) and bulletin drawings.
Required qualifications
3–6 years of architectural production experience in a design firm or design-build environment.
