Architectural Project Manager - ($110,000-130,000)




Position Overview

A nationally recognized, midsized architecture firm is seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager for its Dallas office. This opportunity is ideal for a highly motivated professional with strong leadership, technical, and communication skills who is interested in helping grow a developing regional office.

The Architectural Project Manager will serve as a technical leader with demonstrated expertise in project planning, building codes, construction methods, and project delivery. Candidates should have at least 10 years of architectural experience focused on K through 12 education, higher education, healthcare, or a combination of these market sectors.




Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

• Lead multiple project teams from initial planning through construction completion

• Manage projects with a focus on quality, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction

• Organize and develop comprehensive construction document sets

• Resolve technically challenging design and documentation issues

• Delegate assignments and hold team members accountable for schedules, quality, and performance

• Coordinate project staffing to meet deadlines while minimizing downtime and unnecessary overtime

• Maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, organization, and fiscal responsibility




Client Development and Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients

• Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and key team members

• Collaborate with firm leadership and marketing professionals to prepare client proposals

• Build and maintain a strong professional network within the local community

• Represent the firm professionally in client, industry, and community settings




Technical Coordination

• Perform building code and zoning analyses

• Survey and document existing field conditions

• Organize and lead site visits, field surveys, and construction observations

• Coordinate effectively with internal team members, external consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders

• Maintain current knowledge of graphic standards, building systems, construction methods, materials, and emerging technologies

• Apply a strong understanding of structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout the design and documentation process




Quality Assurance and Problem Solving

• Lead quality assurance reviews throughout every phase of the project

• Ensure construction documents meet established technical and quality standards

• Identify project challenges, obstacles, and opportunities and take decisive action to address them

• Resolve issues involving varying levels of scope and complexity

• Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and industry standards




Team Leadership

• Motivate team members and foster a collaborative working environment

• Communicate clear expectations and provide consistent direction

• Set an example that reflects the firm’s goals and core values

• Support the professional development of project team members

• Demonstrate dependability, consistency, attention to detail, and sound judgment




Qualifications

• Professional bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture

• At least 10 years of experience working in an architectural firm

• Significant project experience in K through 12 education, higher education, healthcare, or a combination of these sectors

• Architectural registration is strongly preferred

• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from initial planning through construction completion

• Strong leadership and communication skills when working with staff, clients, consultants, and contractors

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment

• Understanding of architectural contracts, project budgets, and standard billing procedures

• Practical construction field experience

• Strong knowledge of Texas building codes, accessibility requirements, and applicable federal and industry standards

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and consistently meet deadlines

• Strong problem solving and decision making abilities

• Commitment to following established office standards, policies, and procedures

• Availability to work in the Dallas office during established core business hours
