We are seeking an experienced and ambitious candidate to join our client's Record Archive Service (RAS) group. The group is responsible for managing the archive solutions for all electronic documents in the firm, to meet the legal and regulatory obligations.
What you'll do
This position is for a proactive and experienced systems support engineer who has a strong background supporting mission-critical applications. These systems support the firmwide needs for broker-dealer regulated requirements with real-time business dependencies. The Tier 1 systems are both cloud and on-premise based in a mixed UNIX and Windows infrastructure.
The team member will work in an agile based squad with mixed skill sets and be an equal contributor in this environment. The candidate will work with infrastructure teams, application developers, product owners, and internal customers in the firm. The supported systems are critical to the regular functioning of the firm and prior experience in a dynamic, real-time environment is desirable.
" Candidate must be well versed in mission-critical application and infrastructure support. Experience with change/incident/problem management processes and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
" Candidate must have background in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices.
" Candidate must have strong technical experience in Linux environment, excellent troubleshooting skills, scripting skills (Python/shell), experience with job scheduling tools like Autosys
" Candidate would also be responsible for the improvement, growth and evolution of the archive process, including process documentation, best practices, tracking, and scoping.
" Candidates must be well organized, have strong communication and interpersonal skills. The candidates should be detail-orientated and possess strong analytical skills. They must demonstrate initiative, good judgment, be confident working independently and be comfortable handling sensitive, confidential information.
Skills Primary:
" 7+ years of experience in Linux environment, especially in the area of file systems,
" Good understanding of networking, storage technologies (WORM), and infrastructure
" Good analytic capability for application troubleshooting
" Very good Python and shell scripting and programming expertise,
" Experience using relational databases and using SQL, such as IBM DB2,
" Experience with ServiceNow, Jira and Confluence.
" Experience with change, incident and problem management practices
" Experience with SDLC and code review.
" Monitoring and troubleshooting with tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Splunk
" Experience with record archive systems, document management systems, or report delivery systems is a plus.
Skills Desired:
" Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
" Good understanding of ITIL, with previous experience in implementing and following the ITIL guidelines
" Experience with cloud-based platforms
" Experience working with regulatory, compliance and/or litigation group within the financial industry
" Vendor management skills with previous experience working with vendor operation teams.
